About the German Society for Immunology (DGfI)

The DGfI was founded in 1967 and has more than 2,300 members studying or working in basic and/or clinical immunology.

The scientific activities of our members are organized in 13 research focus groups. The DGfI hosts annual meetings with over 1,000 participants, sometimes as a joint meeting with another European immunological society in order to strengthen the European networks. In addition we organize smaller bilateral meetings together with non-European societies in order to initiate and promote joint research projects. With the ‘DGfI Academy of Immunology’ we now offer structured education in immunology via three modules of training courses. Within our public outreach program ‘Immunology for Everyone’ we develop information material and organize events for the interested public, schools and patients. For more information please see www.dgfi.org and www.das-immunsystem.de resp.
